Porzingis Finishes Second in Rookie of the Year Voting

After a tremendous first season with the Knicks, Kristaps Porzingis finished second behind the Minnesota Timberwolves’ Karl-Anthony Towns for NBA Rookie of the Year, as voted on by a panel of sportswriters and broadcasters.

Among NBA rookies this season, Porzingis finished first in blocks per game (1.9), second in rebounds (7.3) and third in both points per game (14.3) and total three-pointers made (81).

KP became the first Knick to finish this high in the Rookie of the Year voting since Mark Jackson won the award in 1988. Porzingis also set Knicks rookie records for double-doubles (21) and blocked shots (134) in a season.

Watch the video below as Porzingis rates his own rookie performance and discusses what stood out to him the most about his first year in the NBA.

Kristaps Porzingis shares what he talked with Phil Jackson about at the end of the season, what the toughest part of his first year was and what he plans to work on this summer.
