Tonight’s game is the second of four meetings between the Rangers and Hurricanes as the Blueshirts suffered a 3-2 loss on Oct. 28 in Carolina. Forward, Mats Zuccarello recorded two goals in the contest improving his impressive numbers against Carolina to five goals and 15 assists for 20 points in 20 career games played.

The Rangers have been sensational at The Garden against Carolina, winning the past 11 home games, spanning back to Jan. 5, 2011. The home winning streak versus the Canes is currently tied for the longest Rangers home winning streak against one club in franchise history.
NO STAAL FAMILY OUTING
Carolina forward, Jordan Staal was placed on injured reserve Monday with a concussion he suffered in the Hurricanes’ 3-2 win over the Florida Panthers on Sunday. Center, Elias Lindholm will move up to the second line and will take key faceoffs against the Blueshirts tonight.

Henrik Lundqvist will get the start once again tonight, looking to extend his winning streak against the Hurricanes on home-ice to 10 games. “The King” enters the game 23-11-1 all-time against Carolina, with a 2.11 goals against average and a .926 save percentage and two shutouts.
Only twice in the Carolina’ past nine games has a team fired more than 30 shots against the Hurricanes. However, coach Bill Peters has his club thinking defense first as tonight, Carolina will face a stiff challenge against the high-scoring Rangers
