NEW JERSEY DEVILS (12-7-6) @ MONTREAL CANADIENS (17-6-3)
Game coverage starts at 7 PM on MSG+2

FIRST MEETING

Tonight marks the first of three games between the Devils and Canadiens, and it will be the only game of this season series to be played north of the border. The Eastern Conference-leading Canadiens return home tonight after a 2-2-1 five-game road trip. The Devils begin the game with a 2-3-0 record at Bell Centre and are 3-4-2 vs. Montreal overall since the 2013-14 season.

HALL’S IMPACT

Taylor Hall has been an offensive presence, registering two goals and three assists in the three games since returning to the lineup. He opened the scoring Tuesday against the Canucks, then assisted on Kyle Palmieri’s goal. Hall is averaging a point per game, with seven goals and ten assists for 17 points in 17 games this season.

BIG HABS’ INJURIES

The Canadiens received terrible news Wednesday, as it was announced that forwards Alex Galchenyuk and David Desharnais will both miss 6-8 weeks with knee injuries. Galchenyuk is currently leading Montreal with 23 points (nine goals, 14 assists), while Desharnais has three goals and six assists.

ZAJAC ON FIRE

Travis Zajac enters tonight’s game red-hot, riding a three-game point streak in which he’s scored three goals and three assists. Zajac leads the Devils in both points with 21 and assists with 13 in 25 games this season.

MILESTONE MICHAEL

Michael Cammalleri needs only one more point to reach 600 for his career and is also only three points short of 100 as a member of the Devils. Cammalleri is turning in another strong season, collecting nine goals with eight assists for 17 points in 19 contests.
