It took only one goal for the Rangers to record their 30th victory of the season Sunday afternoon.
After a scoreless 60 minutes produced overtime, J.T. Miller scored the game’s lone goal off a great pass from Mats Zuccarello 1:56 into the 3-on-3 session to give the Blueshirts a 1-0 win over the Red Wings.
In typical Zuccarello fashion, he could have taken the shot on the breakaway, but instead, stalled, faked and fed Miller on the 2-on-0, who buried it past Detroit’s Jared Coreau for his 13th goal of the season.
Henrik Lundqvist made 21 saves to record his second shutout of the season and 61st of his career.
The Rangers are right back at it Monday when they host the LA Kings, with live coverage on MSG beginning at 6:30 PM.
