    MSG Network Leads NY Emmy Awards With 14 Wins

    99 Wins Over Past Seven Years the Most of Any Network or Station in the Region

    MSG Media Collects a Total of 16 Awards as MSG+ and Each Earn a Win 

    Knicks Play-by-Play Voice Mike Breen Wins Emmy; Garden of Dreams Foundation Recognized with Emmy in Community Service Category

    New York, NY (March 31, 2014) – The New York Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) announced last night that MSG Network received 14 New York Emmy Awards, the most Emmys awarded to a single network or station this year. MSG Media’s wins, which include MSG Network’s 14 awards and a win each for MSG+ and, totaled 16 Emmys. The New York Emmy Awards recognize television and advanced media programs that were produced for telecast in New York state and northern New Jersey, and aired between September 1, 2012 and August 31, 2013.

    MSG Network’s 14 wins gives the network 99 New York Emmy Awards over the past seven years, more than any single network or station in the region over that time. MSG Media has totaled 113 Emmys during that period and 216 in its history.

    MSG Network’s Mike Breen, the voice of the New York Knicks, earned an Emmy in the On-Camera Talent: Play-by-Play category. The win is Breen’s second individual New York Emmy Award.

    MSG Network also won an Emmy Award in the community service category for its work with The Garden of Dreams Foundation, a nonprofit charity that works with all areas of The Madison Square Garden Company, including MSG Networks, the New York Knicks, New York Rangers, New York Liberty, MSG Entertainment and Fuse, to make dreams come true for children facing obstacles.

    “The Lineup: Best Sports Movies,” hosted by veteran broadcaster Fran Healy and starring Spike Lee, Robert Wuhl, Chazz Palminteri and Jeffrey Lyons, was awarded six Emmy Awards to lead MSG Network’s original programming. “Best Sports Movies” is the third installment in “The Lineup” franchise, which has totaled 14 Emmys since its debut in 2010.

    “The Garden Transformed: Year 2,” which documented the second summer of Madison Square Garden’s three-year, top-to-bottom Transformation project, took home three awards, including a win for actor Billy Crudup, who voiced-over the series. “Beginnings: Iman Shumpert,” “Lost and Found: '73 Knicks Championship Tape,” and “Knicks Poetry Slam” rounded out MSG Network’s total of 12 Emmys for original productions. MSG+ was honored for “The Game 365: Rasheda Ali” and won an Emmy for “The Bracket.”
