New York, NY (June 19, 2013) – MSG Network will debut its all-new original series “The Bracket” presented by Visa, which pits New York’s greatest athletes against each other to determine the best in different categories, on Thursday, June 20 at 10:00 p.m. with the “Greatest Knick” episode.

Hosted by comedians Yannis Pappas and Chris Distefano, “The Bracket” breaks down each tournament-style episode round-by-round to reveal the winner of each matchup. Winners were determined by fan voting at earlier this year.

Each 30-minute episode also includes insight and commentary by some of New York’s biggest celebrity sports fans, including actors Kevin Bacon and Ed Burns, comedian and actor Whoopi Goldberg, tennis legend John McEnroe, New York Giants defensive end Justin Tuck, the “Today” show’s Al Roker, “Good Morning America” host Josh Elliott, “30 Rock” star Brian Baumgartner and the Beastie Boys’ Mike D and Adam Horovitz.

“We were here, in this building, for the Ewing era and he brought so much to New York, perhaps in an unprecedented sense,” said Mike D in defense of Patrick Ewing as the greatest Knick ever.

“He was the team leader and when you thought about the Knicks of that era, you thought about him…he was the team,” added Horovitz. “He got the team going, he got the crowd going, he was just ferocious.”

Additional episodes in the ten-part series include: “Coolest New York Athlete” (premieres June 27), “New York’s Toughest Athlete” (premieres July 11), “Greatest New York Celebrity Fan” (premieres July 18), “Greatest Garden Villain,” “Greatest Garden Hair,” “Greatest New York Coach or Manager,” “Greatest Knick Dunkers,” “Greatest New York Captain” and “Greatest Ranger.”
