New York, NY (December 23, 2013) – MSG Network will present “The Garden Transformed: Year Three,” the final installment of the original series that takes a behind-the-scenes look at Madison Square Garden’s unprecedented, three-year, top-to-bottom Transformation. The new series, which is presented by Chase and features award-winning actor Billy Crudup providing the voiceover, starts Friday, December 27 at 11:00 p.m., with a new episode for five consecutive nights.

Highlights from the final phase of the $1 billion Transformation of the famed Arena, which took place during the offseason and was completed in time for the New York Knicks’ final preseason game in October, include: the new Chase Square 7th Avenue entrance that is nearly double in size and features two 600 square foot ceiling video screens showcasing ground-breaking content, two new spectacular Chase Bridges with one-of-a-kind views of the action, the EIGHTEEN/76 Balcony, the new Signature Suite Level and GardenVision, a state-of-the-art, center-hung multimedia display.

The series focuses not only on the construction itself, but on the personalities of the people who worked day in and day out on the enormous project, many for all three years, driven by their dedication to the beloved Arena. In addition, the show includes all new interviews with a number of athletes and celebrities, who over the years have left an indelible mark on the legendary building as they return to The Garden to see the Transformation’s progress for themselves.

New York Rangers All-Star goaltender Henrik Lundqvist was one of the first guests during the final phase of the Transformation and talked about what The Garden and its dedicated fans mean to him.

“The first time I heard the ‘Hen-Rik’ chant, I remember thinking it was surreal,” said Lundqvist, as he stood on the new Chase Bridges. “I worked so hard to get here and play in front of these fans, and to get that support that fast was unbelievable. It still gives me goose bumps every time and it’s part of why I love playing in this building.”

Former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani and actor Michael J. Fox also stopped in over the summer to talk to construction workers and recalled memories of one of the most unforgettable events ever held at The Garden, “The Concert for New York City,” a benefit concert that brought together some of the biggest names in music and entertainment to help raise money for 9/11 victims and heroes.

“The people of this city showed tremendous resilience and each day they would display that resiliency and strength,” said Giuliani. “The connection between Madison Square Garden and New York is so great that it became the obvious place to have an event like ‘The Concert for New York City.’”

“We looked around and our neighbors were here, our friends were here, and we were marking those that weren’t here,” said Fox. “It was about that moment and it was about what we had all gone through. It was a feeling that everyone was in it together and the first recognition that we were not going to be beaten.”

Other athletes and celebrities interviewed throughout the series include: New York Knicks stars Raymond Felton and Tim Hardaway Jr.; college basketball coaches Jim Boeheim and Steve Lavin; boxing greats Larry Holmes and Gerry Cooney; four-time boxing champion Miguel Cotto; actor Luis Guzman; and WWE legends Bruno Sammartino and Triple H.

Madison Square Garden hosts more than 400 events each year with over four million fans passing through the turnstiles. For more than a century The Garden has embraced generations of fans who have come to express their pride and passion for teams, athletes, performers, and statesmen at the hundreds of historic events and defining moments that have taken place at The World’s Most Famous Arena.
