New York, NY (April 18, 2013) – MSG Network, New York’s home for Knicks basketball, will have extensive coverage of the New York Knicks-Boston Celtics Eastern Conference Quarterfinal series of the NBA Playoffs, including the game telecasts of Game 2 and Game 3 (and Games 5 and 6, if necessary), as well as one hour exclusive postgame coverage, featuring one of three Knicks Legends – Patrick Ewing, Bernard King and Earl Monroe – following every game in the first round.

MSG Network’s Knicks Playoffs coverage starts Saturday, April 20 immediately following the conclusion of ABC’s national broadcast of Game 1. The “Ford Knicks Postgame Show” will feature Knicks Legend and Hall of Famer Bernard King who will join MSG Network’s studio crew of Al Trautwig, Bill Pidto, Alan Hahn and Wally Szczerbiak.

MSG Network’s first game telecast of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals will take place on Tuesday, April 23 at 8:00 p.m. when the Knicks host the Celtics in Game 2 at Madison Square Garden. Coverage starts at 7:00 p.m. with “Visa Knicks Game Night” and the “Chase Blue Carpet Show” featuring Jill Martin and top model Damaris Lewis on the Chase Blue Carpet to interview celebrities attending the game. Knicks reporter Tina Cervasio will join Szczerbiak in the Geico MSG Studio in 11 Penn Plaza while Trautwig and Hahn report from the Geico Suite in the arena. Mike Breen and Walt “Clyde” Frazier will call the game courtside and Pidto will give game-day updates every 30 minutes starting at 3:00 p.m.

Immediately following the game, Knicks Legend and Hall of Famer Patrick Ewing will return to the “Ford Knicks Postgame Show” along with Trautwig, Hahn and Szczerbiak to break down Game 2 of the series.

MSG Network will also telecast Game 3 of the Knicks-Celtics series on Friday, April 26 at 8:00 p.m. King will join Trautwig, Pidto, Hahn and Szczerbiak for pregame coverage starting at 7:00 p.m. and postgame coverage immediately following the game. Spero Dedes will call play-by-play alongside Frazier for Game 3. Pidto and Hahn will provide game-day updates every 30 minutes starting at 3:00 p.m.

Knicks Legend and Hall of Famer Earl “The Pearl” Monroe will join Trautwig, Hahn and Szczerbiak in-studio following Game 4 as MSG Network continues its exclusive postgame coverage of the series.

Frazier, who faced the Celtics in epic playoff battles throughout his career, weighed in on the rivalry and the upcoming series.

“It was always intimidating playing in the old Boston Garden, the parquet floor, all the banners hanging, it was intimidating as a young player in the league, and the Knicks are going up against that legacy,” said Frazier. “I always respected the Celtics, they dominated the Knicks for so long, but it was great when we were finally able to beat them in the playoffs.”

“The Knicks will need great defense and teamwork to win this series…they can’t rely on Carmelo to score 40-50 points a game,” said Frazier. “They have to have a consummate team effort to win and rebounding will also be key…the Knicks can’t give Boston second opportunities to score.”

Should they be necessary, MSG Network will telecast Game 5 and Game 6 of the series. Below is a full television schedule for the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals.
