TEAM SCORING

The Rangers are making it tough on opponents and tonight the Arizona defense will have their hands full, as 19 different Rangers have registered at least one point through the first five games of the season. Nine different Rangers registered at least a point in Saturday’s win over the Capitals.

VESEY HEATING UP

Rookie Jimmy Vesey scored two goals Saturday and is now the third Ranger rookie to register a multi-goal game since the start of the 2013-14 season (Chris Kreider and Oscar Lindberg). Vesey now has three goals in his first five NHL games.

After being acquired from Ottawa in the offseason, Mika Zibanejad continues to roll, gaining an assist on Jimmy Vesey’s game-winning goal Saturday. Zibanejad now has recorded a point in four of the first five  games, tallying  two goals and four assists for six points.

FACING ARIZONA

Last season the Blueshirts finished 2-0-0 against the Coyotes and outscored Arizona 8-2. Chris Kreider led the Rangers in the season series in scoring with three points, and New York enters tonight’s game winners of their last seven home games against the Coyotes dating back to Nov. 24, 2008.

ROUGH ROAD

The Coyotes have had a rough start, playing three of their first four games on the road. After opening up the season with a win at home, the Yotes have dropped three straight away from Gila River Arena and have  allowed 15 goals in those three losses.
