NEW YORK RANGERS (17-9-1) @ WINNIPEG JETS (13-13-3)

RANGERS NORTH OF THE BORDER

Tonight the Rangers head to Winnipeg where they face the Jets in the second and final game of their season series after the Blueshirts took the first contest 5-2, Nov. 6 at The Garden. The Rangers take the ice at the MTS Centre looking to reverse their recent downward trend, as they have gone 4-5-1 in their last ten games after starting the season 13-4-0.

NASH ON THE MEND

Rangers alternate captain Rick Nash hurt his groin in Tuesday’s contest against the Islanders, however, the Rangers announced Wednesday that he will only miss a week. In 27 games this season, Nash has 11 goals and 7 assists for 18 points, while being one of the biggest Broadway surprises this season.

Alain Vigneault provides an injury report on Rick Nash, Jimmy Vesey and Mika Zibanejad, and discusses how the injuries will impact the lineup.

LAINE LIGHTING THE LAMP

Rookie forward Patrik Laine scored his eighth goal of the season in his first meeting with the Rangers. He hasn’t slowed down since, and tonight he enters the game with 17 goals and a tie for first with Pittsburgh’s Sidney Crosby among the leaders in most goals in the NHL this season.

GRABNER IS BACK

The Blueshirts will have forward Michael Grabner back in the lineup Thursday after he missed Tuesday’s game against the Islanders, as he traveled to Austria due for his grandmother’s funeral. Grabner’s speed and skills will be welcome in the Blueshirt lineup, as the Jets’ roster is loaded with youth and slick skaters.

TOP DOG OUT?

Jets leading scorer, center Mark Scheifele (13-13-26) missed his third straight game with a lower-body injury Tuesday against the Red Wings. Today he is listed as day-to-day and remains questionable for tonight’s contest against the Rangers.
