Mika Zibanejad is staying in New York!
The Rangers announced that they signed the 24-year-old center to a five-year deal worth an average $5.35 million per year.
In his first season on Broadway, Zibanejad skated in 56 games, recording 14 goals and 23 assists for 37 points. He also had two goals and seven assists in 12 playoff games, including the overtime game-winner in Game 5 of the first round against Montreal.
Zibanejad, a native of Huddinge, Sweden, was originally drafted sixth overall by the Senators in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft and was acquired from Ottawa last offseason in exchange for Derick Brassard.
