Yesterday, news sites picked up Selena Gomez wearing Justin Bieber‘s jersey after the Biebs played in a hockey game.

The important part of the story is that the jersey worn was that of the New Jersey Devils.
This is definitely not the first hockey sweater donned by the pop icon from Stratford, Ontario. It won’t be the last. Why the lack of “team loyalty?” Bieber actually has a very fair explanation:

The number of games this season it took Brian Gibbons of the Devils to score 5 goals this season. He scored 5 total goals in his 66 previous NHL games.
Amount of hits Blake Coleman has dished out on the season, most on the Devils squad. Coleman also currently leads New Jersey in face-off win percentage (50%, over 100 taken) and is second in takeaways (12).
Speaking of hits…
Since 1997, Dustin Brown of the Los Angeles Kings leads the NHL in career hits, 3,013.
Nico Hischier is the 166th NHL player in history to score a NHL goal at 18 years old or younger.
Five did it at 17 years of age in the 1942-43 season (Assist: @CraigSeiden1513).
