Isles Pride Fan Contest Official Rules


ELIGIBILITY: Open to legal residents of New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Pennsylvania, 18 or older.  Employees of MSGN Holdings, L.P. (“Sponsor”), MSG Networks, Inc, The New York Islanders, the National Hockey League and its member teams, NHL Enterprises, L.P. (collectively, “NHL Entities”), Cox Media Group Long Island/WBAB, and their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising agents and promotional partners,and their immediate families (parent, child, spouse or sibling and their respective spouses, regardless of where they reside) and those living in their same households, whether or not related) of such individuals are not eligible to enter or win. By participating, entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of Sponsor, which are binding and final on matters relating to this Contest. Contest is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws.

CONTEST PERIOD: The Contest starts at or around 5:00 p.m. on March 8, 2019 and ends at 12:00 p.m. (noon) on April 3, 2019 (“Contest Period”) and will be divided into four (4) entry periods (each, an “Entry Period”), as follows:

  • Entry Period #1: 5:00 p.m. on March 8, 2019 through 11:59 a.m. ET on March 13, 2019.
  • Entry Period #2: 12:00 p.m. (noon) on March 13, 2019 through 11:59 a.m. ET on March 20, 2019.
  • Entry Period #3: 12:00 p.m. (noon) on March 20, 2019 through 11:59 a.m. ET on March 27, 2019.
  • Entry Period #4: 12:00 p.m. (noon) on March 27, 2019 through 12:00 p.m. (noon) ET on April 3, 2019.

HOW TO ENTER: During the Contest Period, to enter, visit and follow the directions to complete and submit the entry form, including a photo showing your Islanders fan spirit (“Fan Content”). All entries must be received by the end of the applicable Entry Period to be eligible for that Entry Period’s prizes. Entrants understand that by entering they are granting Sponsor and its designees, successors, licensees and assigns the right to use the Fan Content online and on-air as more fully set forth in the “Use of Fan Content” section below. Limit one (1) entry per person for the entire Contest Period. Multiple entries from any person will be void. Entries generated by script, macro or other automated means or by any means which subvert the entry process are void. All entries become the property of Sponsor.

PROHIBITED CONTENT: Fan Content may not contain, as determined by the Sponsor, in its sole discretion, any content that:

  • contains music;
  • is derogatory of any ethnic, racial, gender, religious, professional or age group;
  • is profane or pornographic;
  • is obscene or offensive;
  • endorses any form of hate or hate group;
  • appears to duplicate any other submitted Entry;
  • defames, misrepresents or contains disparaging remarks about Sponsor, its products or services, the Islanders, or any person or any other entity;
  • infringes on the intellectual property rights (including, without limitation, copyright or trademark rights) of any third party (with the exception of the Islanders);
  • infringes on the right of privacy or publicity of any person;
  • communicates messages or images inconsistent with Sponsor and/or its reputation; and/or
  • violates any law.

Fan Content must be entrant’s own work product, may not have been previously published by entrant, and may not have won previous awards.

By including any persons in your Fan Content, you warrant you have their express permission to use their image, to grant the rights set forth herein and, if requested, by the Sponsor can provide written documentation of such permissions in a form acceptable to Sponsor.

By submitting Fan Content, entrant represents and warrants that the Fan Content is his/her own original work product and that it conforms to these Official Rules and understands that Sponsor, in its sole discretion, may disqualify any entry for any reason, including if it determines, in its sole discretion, that the Fan Content fails to conform to these Official Rules in any way or otherwise contains unacceptable content as determined by Sponsor, in its sole discretion.

USE OF FAN CONTENT: By submitting Fan Content, an entrant hereby grants to Sponsor and its designees, successors, licensees and assigns a nonexclusive license to use, reproduce, distribute, display, perform, create derivative works based upon, and otherwise exploit the Fan Content and all elements embodied therein, edited or altered as Sponsor sees fit, in whole or in part, together with entrant’s name, city and state of residence, biographical information, likeness, and image, together with any other material, in any manner, in any and all media, now known or hereafter devised, throughout the world in perpetuity, for advertising, promotional, commercial and other purposes, without further compensation, notification or permission, whether or not the entry with which the Fan Content is submitted is a winning entry. Entrant agrees that Released Parties (as defined below) are not responsible for any unauthorized use of any Fan Content by third parties. Sponsor has no obligation to make use of the rights granted herein.

JUDGING: All eligible entries received for each Entry Period will be judged by a panel of qualified judges based on who is the most passionate fan. In the event of a tie in any Entry Period, a tie-breaker judge will judge the tied entries using the criteria set forth herein to determine the potential winner(s). Sponsor reserves the right to not award all prizes for any Entry Period if, in its sole discretion, it receives an insufficient number of eligible and qualified entries for that Entry Period. Nonwinning entries from one Entry Period will carry forward into subsequent Entry Periods All decisions of the Sponsor and judges are final and binding.  Sponsor will not reveal the judging scores for any entry.

WINNER NOTIFICATION: Potential winners will be notified by phone and/or e-mail with instructions on how to claim the prize and must respond to the initial notification within twenty-four (24) hours of that notification. Potential winners may be required to sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability/Publicity Release within seven (7) days of date of notification in order to claim prize. If potential winner does not respond to the initial notification within the time period stated, prize or prize notification is returned as undelivered, potential winner cannot be contacted, or fails to sign and return all required documents within the required time period or is not in compliance with these Official Rules, such potential winner may be disqualified and forfeits the prize. In the event that the potential winner is disqualified for any reason, Sponsor may award the prize to a runner-up.  

PRIZES AND APPROXIMATE RETAIL VALUES (“ARV”): Grand Prize (3) (one per Entry Periods 1, 2 & 3): Two (2) tickets to the New York Islanders 2018-2019 home game at NYCB Live’s Nassau Coliseum. Approximate Retail Value: $200-300. Travel to/from venue is not included as part of the prize. Game tickets may not be exchanged for other dates. No refund or compensation will be paid in the event of the cancellation or delay of the game, or any portion thereof. Sponsor will not be liable if the game, or any portion of it, is cancelled or delayed. Game tickets are subject to certain terms and conditions as specified by issuer. The terms and conditions of the game tickets may govern if the game is cancelled due to weather, an act of God, an act of terrorism, civil disturbance or any other reason. Released Parties (as defined below) are not responsible for, and will not replace, lost, mutilated, or stolen game tickets. Exact details, including seat locations, shall be determined in the sole discretion of Sponsor. Winners and guests of must comply with all venue rules and regulations. Failure to do so may result in forfeiture of prize.First Prize (5) (one (1) per each Entry Period, two (2) for Entry Period #4): Islanders merchandise prize pack. ARV: $50-$100 each. Total ARV of all prizes: $850-$1,150. Prizes are awarded “as is” with no warranty or guarantee, either express or implied. Winners may not substitute, assign or transfer prize or redeem prize for cash, but Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to substitute prize with one of comparable or greater value. Winners are responsible for all applicable federal, state and local taxes, if any, as well as costs and expenses associated with prize acceptance and use not specified herein as being provided. All prize details are at Sponsor’s sole discretion. Limit one (1) prize per person.

GENERAL CONDITIONS: By participating, each entrant agrees (a) to abide by these Official Rules and decisions of Sponsor and Contest administrators selected by Sponsor, which shall be final and binding in all respects; and (b) that Sponsor, MSG Networks, Inc., The New York Islanders, the NHL Entities, Cox Media Group Long Island/WBAB, and their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising agents and promotional partners, and all of their respective officers, directors, employees, representatives and agents (collectively, “Released Parties”) will have no liability whatsoever for, and shall be held harmless by entrants against, any liability, for any injuries, losses or damages of any kind, including death, to persons, or property resulting in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from acceptance, possession, misuse or use of a prize (including any travel or activity related thereto) or participation in this Contest. Released Parties are not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, inaccurate, stolen, misdirected, undelivered or garbled entries or email; or for lost, interrupted or unavailable network, server, Internet Service Provider (ISP), website, or other connections, availability or accessibility or miscommunications or failed computer, satellite, telephone or cable transmissions, lines, or technical failure or jumbled, scrambled, delayed, or misdirected transmissions or computer hardware or software malfunctions, failures or difficulties, or other errors or difficulties of any kind whether human, mechanical, electronic, computer, network, typographical, printing or otherwise relating to or in connection with the Contest, including, without limitation, errors or difficulties which may occur in connection with the administration of the Contest, the processing of entries, the announcement of the prizes or in any Contest-related materials. Released Parties are also not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by site users, tampering, hacking, or by any equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Contest. Released Parties are not responsible for injury or damage to participants’ or to any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participating in this Contest or downloading materials from or use of the website. Persons who tamper with or abuse any aspect of the Contest or website or who are in violation of these Official Rules or who act in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner, as solely determined by Sponsor, will be disqualified and all associated entries will be void. Should any portion of the Contest be, in Sponsor’s sole opinion, compromised by virus, worms, bugs, non-authorized human intervention or other causes which, in the sole opinion of the Sponsor, corrupt or impair the administration, security, fairness or proper play, or submission of entries, Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion to suspend, modify or terminate the Contest (or any portion thereof) and, if terminated, at its discretion, select the winners for the Entry Period(s) at issue from all eligible, non-suspect entries received for such Entry Period(s) prior to action taken using the judging procedure outlined above or as otherwise deemed fair and appropriate by Sponsor. In the event of a dispute regarding entries received from multiple users having the same e-mail account, the authorized subscriber of the e-mail account at the time of entry will be deemed to be the entrant and must comply with these Official Rules. Authorized account subscriber is the natural person who is assigned the e-mail address by the Internet Service Provider (ISP), on-line service provider, or other organization responsible for assigning e-mail addresses.
