1 You Again

These teams played six days ago in Brooklyn, with the Islanders winning 5-2.  Rookie Mathew Barzal recorded his first-career hat trick in the win.

The Isles have won five straight in Winnipeg and are 7-0-1 there since the team relocated from Atlanta.

2 Boychuk Sidelined

The Isles blueline was dealt a significant blow Thursday as Johnny Boychuk was placed on injured reserve with a lower-body injury and is listed as week-to-week.

Boychuk joins fellow defenseman Calvin de Haan, who is out indefinitely with an upper-body injury, on the sidelines.

Rookie Sebastian Aho was recalled from Bridgeport in a corresponding move.

3 Jets Shorthanded

The Jets are dealing with injuries as well, as it was announced Thursday that center Mark Scheifele will be out six to eight weeks.

Scheifele, 24, is second on the Jets (and 14th in the NHL) in points with 38, and is sixth in the NHL among forwards in ice time, averaging 20:58 per game.
