1 First Impressions

Although the Devils lost Thursday night in overtime to the Oilers, there was one bright spot for New Jersey. Brian Boyle tallied his first goal as a Devil against Edmonton and his first goal since Feb. 11. Since making his return to the lineup, Boyle is averaging 14:31 time on ice and has a goal and an assist in five games.

2 How They Drew It Up

Drew Stafford scored his fifth goal of the season in Thursday’s OT defeat and continues to excel as an excellent under-the-radar signing made by general manager Ray Shero. In his last five games, Stafford has tallied three points (two goals and an assist).

3 Fancy a Fight?

There could be some extra physicality in tonight’s game with the Panthers’ Micheal Haley on the ice. The former Ranger and Islander leads the NHL with six fighting majors and had a scrap last night against the Sabres’ Jordan Nolan.

4 Season of "Gibb-ing"

Brian Gibbons had an assist on Boyle’s goal Thursday and continues to pile on the points for the Devils. The 29-year-old leads the team in plus-minus with a plus-10 rating and is also in the team lead with goals with seven.
