It was an emotional night on Hockey Fights Cancer Night at the Prudential Center Friday.

Brian Boyle took the ceremonial face-off before the game, then scored a goal during the game and after the game was named the first star of the night.

2 Going Back to Back

Both teams will be playing the second half a back-to-back tonight.

On Friday, the Devils defeated the Canucks behind a three-point night from Taylor Hall, while the Red Wings fell in overtime to the Rangers in New York.

3 Offensive Breakout

Damon Severson scored the game-winning goal in Friday’s 3-2 victory, his third tally of the season.

Severson has now matched last season’s goal total and is on pace to break his career-high of 5, set in in his rookie season (2013-14).

At 7-2-2, New Jersey has one of the best road records in the NHL.

Historically, the Devils have struggled in Detroit (13-20-2) but this will be their visit to the new Little Caesars Arena. New Jersey played the final game at Joe Louis Arena last season, losing 4-1 to the Red Wings.
