For the second time in three games, the Devils had a go-ahead goal wiped away due to an opposing team’s offside challenge. It looked as if Jesper Bratt had given New Jersey the lead against the Blues, but Marcus Johansson was judged to be offside upon further review.
The Devils also had a goal wiped off on Dec. 29 against the Sabres in a similar situation.
It’s been a solid rookie campaign for Nico Hischier so far and the first-year Swiss star is starting to find the back of the net.
Hischier scored Tuesday against the Blues and has three goals in his last five games. He’s tied for fifth among rookies in points with 25 points (8 goals, 17 assists).
