1 A New Home

The Islanders have won a bid to build a new 18,000-seat arena near Belmont Park. Watch the full press conference, as the team embarks on an exciting new venture in its future.

The Islanders announced their plans Wednesday to build a world-class facility at Belmont Park.

The 18,000-seat arena would relocate the Isles back to Nassau County in time for the start of the 2020 season.

2 Top of the Heap

The Isles’ top line continues to produce at an impressive rate. John Tavares, Anders Lee and Josh Bailey all extended their respective points streaks (Lee, Bailey 6 games; Tavares 5 games).

Bailey netted his 10th goal of the season on the power play thanks to a great setup from Mathew Barzal.

3 First for Everything

The Isles’ loss to the Red Wings on Tuesday was the first defeat the team had this season when scoring the first goal. The Isles are 11-1-0 when they record the first marker of the game.

4 Beast Coast

It’s been tough sledding for the Ducks in their only visit to the Metropolitan area.

On Monday, they were up 3-1 against the Devils before New Jersey rallied to take the two points.

On Tuesday, the Rangers jumped out to a 3-0 lead and breezed to a 4-1 win.
