New Jersey will look to rebound tonight after being shutout at home by the Red Wings Monday. Meanwhile, the Bruins have not played since defeating Montreal Saturday.
After starting last night, Cory Schneider will once again be between the pipes. The Devils are 5-4-0 in the second game of back-to-back sets this season.
The Devils will be without Taylor Hall (hand) tonight. Hall did not play in Monday’s game either and will be reevaluated Wednesday.
Someone will need to step up to replace Hall, who leads the team in goals (17), assists (31) and points (48).
The Bruins enter tonight’s game riding a 16-game point streak with a 12-0-4 record over that span.
However, they will be without rookie sensation Charlie McAvoy, who underwent a heart procedure to treat an abnormal rhythm on Monday and will be sidelined for two weeks.
The Devils will be out for revenge after losing the first matchup of the season to the Bruins at home on Nov. 22.
Brian Gibbons tied the game with 4:44 left in regulation but the Devils eventually fell in a shootout.
