1 Home Sweet Home

The Islanders return to Barclays Center where they have won six of their last seven and own a 7-0-2 record.

They are the only NHL team without a home regulation loss this season.

2 Rookie Spotlight

Two of the NHL’s top rookies, Mathew Barzal and Brock Boeser, square off tonight for the first time.

Barzal (23 points ) and Boeser (22 points) rank first and second in scoring among all rookies.

Barzal is currently on a six-game point streak (three goals, six assists), while Boeser had his six-game point snapped Sunday against the Rangers.

3 No Change in Net

Jaroslav Halak gets the start in goal after backstopping the Islanders to a 2-1 win Saturday, snapping a personal three-game losing streak.

This is the first time he’s starting two straight games since Oct. 30 and Nov. 2. Halak is 6-5-0 this season with a 2.96 GAA and a .903 SV%.

4 Power Surge

New York has now scored a power play goal in six straight games. The last time they did that was back in February 2016.

They are 10-2-0 when scoring at least one power play goal and 4-5-2 when they don’t.

5 Travis Green Comes Home

Canucks coach Travis Green will be coaching against the Islanders for the first time tonight.

Green played 388 games across six seasons in the ’90s for the Islanders, registering 237 points (92 goals, 145 assists).
