1 Home Sweet Home

The Islanders are 6-0-1 in their last seven home games against the Coyotes. The last time they lost to the Coyotes at home was back in 2002 and current GM Garth Snow was in net for the Isles!

2 Going Streaking

Josh Bailey (two goals, two assists), Mathew Barzal (one goal, two assists) and Andrew Ladd (one goal, two assists) all combined on the go-ahead goal on Saturday, extending their point streaks to three games each.

3 O Captain! My Captain!

Captain John Tavares broke out of his five-game pointless streak in a big way Saturday, recording three points in the Islanders win. With the big night, Tavares passed Isles legend Bob Bourne on the all-time franchise list in assists and points and tied him in goals. A goal tonight would not only pass Bourne, but also tie him with John Tonelli for 7th place on the franchise all-time points list.

4 Lucky Number 3

So far this young season, three goals has been the magic number for the Islanders. They’re 4-0-0 when they score three or more and 0-3-1 when they don’t.

5 Getting Ahead of the Curve

With a 4-3-1 record, the Isles are over NHL-.500 for the first time this season. Last year, it took them until December 8 to get over NHL-.500. A win tonight would put them two games over, a feat which they didn’t accomplish until January 21 last season.
