1 Slump Busting

Doug Weight speaks to the media after the Isles defeat to the Penguins while speaking on Josh Bailey after he was forced to leave the game.

The Islanders will be looking to snap a season-high five-game losing streak.

It’s the first time they’ve lost five straight in regulation since November 2013.

2 2nd Period of Doom

Brendan Burke and Butch Goring look at how Sidney Crosby inspired the Penguins to a 4-0 win over the Islanders in Brooklyn.

Part of the Isles recent struggles has been their play in the second period.

They have been outscored 12-1 in their last four second periods.

3 Matinee Magic

Perhaps the early start time will be good for the Isles, who are 2-0-1 in matinees this season.

The Isles will actually have back-to-back matinees, as their first game following the bye week is next Saturday at 1 p.m. against the rival Rangers

4 One-Sided Rivalry

The Isles have had great success against their cross-river rivals of late.

They have won their last seven home games against New Jersey and are 12-1-1 in their last 14 meetings.

5 Trainer's Room

Josh Bailey, Andrew Ladd and Ryan Pulock all left Friday’s game and did not return.

It’s unknown what their status is for Sunday. The Islanders recalled Anthony Beauvillier from Bridgeport (AHL) on an emergency basis.
