Despite getting a hat trick from Josh Bailey, the Isles lost to the Blue Jackets, 6-4, back on Dec. 14 in Columbus. New York also lost earlier this season in Columbus, but get to host the Blue Jackets for the first and final time this season tonight.

The Isles are 8-0-4 in their last 12 games on home ice against the Blue Jackets.

3 Metro Gridlock

The Islanders are tied for last in the Metropolitan Division but are just three points behind Columbus, who sit in fourth and currently occupy the first wild card. February is a big month for Columbus, as they play 10 games against Metropolitan Division teams.

4 Barzal Closing In on History


Mathew Barzal is currently five assists behind Bryan Berard for the Isles’ franchise lead in most assists by a rookie in a single season.

Berard set the mark during the 1996-97 season with 40.

5 Isles Iron Man


Nick Leddy will skate in his 130th consecutive game tonight and will tie former Isles captain Mark Streit for seventh place on the franchise’s all-time consecutive games played list.
