1 Busy Few Days

The Islanders last played Thursday in Vegas, but a lot has happened in the few days since.

John Tavares and Josh Bailey participated in All-Star Weekend and the team announced Monday that they would be playing select games at Nassau Coliseum the next three seasons.

The injury-ravaged Islanders are making progress. 

Casey Cizikas, who has missed six games, could return tonight while Johnny Boychuk (lower body) is getting closer and Andrew Ladd (upper body) returned to practice. 

3 Last Time They Met

Mathew Barzal scored the shootout-winner on his first career shootout attempt to lift the Isles to a 5-4 win over the Panthers back on Dec. 4

These teams wrap up their season series March 26 at Barclays Center

4 Cappy's Return

Former Islanders coach Jack Capuano, who is now an assistant coach with the Panthers, returns to New York for the first time.

Capuano had a 227-192-64 record across seven seasons as the Isles bench boss. 

 

5 Tonelli Time

Tonight will be an extra special night at Barclays Center as Isles legend John Tonelli will drop the ceremonial first puck before the game. 

Tonelli won four Stanley Cups with the Islanders and had 544 points (206 goals, 338 assists) in 594 games with the team.
