What else is there to say about Kristaps Porzingis? The Knicks’ rising star continues his torrid start to the season and has recorded 30-plus points in six of the first eight Knicks games. In Friday’s win over Phoenix, KP scored a game-high 37 points, shot 60 percent from the field and grabbed 7 boards.
Porzingis is third in the NBA in points per game this season, average 29 per contest.
Acquired in a blockbuster offseason trade from Oklahoma City, Enes Kanter continues to rack up doubles-doubles this season. The center logged 32 minutes, scored 16 points and grabbed 15 rebounds against the Suns. In eight games this season, Kanter is averaging 14.1 points per game and 10.5 rebounds.
Doug McDermott came along with Kanter from Oklahoma City and has been a valuable piece off the bench so far. The 25-year-old provided a spark off the bench Friday night against the Suns and recorded 12 points in 15 minutes, including a memorable turnaround jam that rocked The Garden.
The trade that sent Paul George to OKC brought back Victor Oladipo to Indiana and the 25-year-old guard is having an outstanding start to his season. The former Indiana Hoosier standout is averaging 24.6 points per game, 4.2 rebounds and 3.9 assists.
