1 Not Their First Rodeo

The Rangers are 3-0-0 all-time in outdoor games and are the only team that has won three outdoor games in NHL history.

They defeated the Flyers in the 2012 Winter Classic and took down the Islanders and Devils as part of the 2014 Stadium Series.

On the other side, the Sabres played in the first Winter Classic in 2008, losing 2-1 to the Penguins in a shootout.

2 Winter Wonderland

The Rangers have 12 players that have previously appeared in an outdoor game.

Henrik Lundqvist, Ryan McDonagh and Marc Staal have appeared in all three of the Rangers regular season outdoor games.

3 Remember When...

It’s hard to believe but the first-ever outdoor game between two NHL clubs was actually held on the Las Vegas strip! Take a peek at what went down when the Rangers took on the LA Kings in an exhibition game in front of Caesars Palace in September of 1991.

In addition to their three outdoor game wins, the Rangers also played an exhibition game outdoors.

Back in 1991, the Rangers defeated the Kings, 5-2, at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.

4 All Hail the King!

Henrik Lundqvist is 3-0-0 in outdoor games with a 2.00 GAA and a .933 SV%.

He enters Monday’s game with 422 career wins and is one away from tying Tony Esposito for eighth place all-time on the NHL wins list.

5 No "I" In Team

The Rangers are the only team that has at least 14 players with 13 or more points this season.

Their balanced attack and depth have been key to their success this season.

Mats Zuccarello has 15 points the last 18 games (five goals, 10 assists) and now leads the team in points (29) and assists (21) this season.

In two career outdoor games, Zucc has two goals and one assist.
