MSG Networks Announces New York Rangers Broadcast Team for 2018-2019 Season
Rangers Opening Night Coverage to Start at 6:30PM on Thursday on MSG Networks

New York, NY (October 3, 2018) – With the New York Rangers’ regular season set to get underway, MSG Networks (NYSE: MSGN), the television home of the New York Rangers, announced today the broadcast team for the upcoming season. The puck drops for the Rangers’ opening night on Thursday with a home matchup against the Nashville Predators, with coverage starting on MSG Networks at 6:30pm.

Sam Rosen, the recipient of the 2016 Foster Hewitt Memorial Award from the Hockey Hall of Fame, will return for his 35th season as the play-by-play voice of the Rangers and will be joined in the booth by in-game analyst Joe Micheletti, back for his 13th season. Now in his 16th year, John Giannone will also resume his reporter duties, providing in-game commentary and postgame reaction for all Rangers games.

Al Trautwig will once again serve as pregame, postgame and intermission host for all Rangers home telecasts, with Bill Pidto working as host for all road games. Joining Trautwig and Pidto in the studio will be former Rangers goalie and expert analyst Steve Valiquette. For select telecasts throughout the season, former Rangers great and captain Dave Maloney or Anson Carter, who played two seasons with the Rangers during his NHL career, will also provide analysis alongside Valiquette in the studio. Carter has previously worked in the studio for MSG Networks and currently serves as a studio analyst for NBC Sports’ hockey coverage as well.

All Rangers games will also appear on ESPN 98.7, the radio home of the Rangers, with versatile announcer Kenny Albert calling the play-by-play action, along with the aforementioned Maloney who will handle the analysis. Don La Greca will serve as back-up play-by-play announcer for games on ESPN 98.7.

All Rangers telecasts and pregame and postgame coverage throughout the season on MSG Networks will also be available on MSG GO, MSG Networks’ live streaming and video on demand platform for smartphones, tablets and computers.
