New York, NY (July 15, 2020) – With the National Hockey League set to return to the ice, MSG Networks (NYSE: MSGN) today announced the official telecast schedule for the New York Rangers for their upcoming Stanley Cup Qualifiers playoff series against the Carolina Hurricanes. Game 1 is scheduled to take place on Saturday, August 1st at 12:00pm ET, with pregame coverage getting underway at 11:30am ET on MSG Network.

All of the Rangers’ opening round games versus the Hurricanes will be held at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, one of the two NHL designated hub cities for this year’s playoffs. Under the new best-of-five matchup qualifying format, the 6th-seeded Hurricanes will be assigned the home team in Games 1, 2 and 5, with the 11th-seeded Rangers taking the ice as the home team in Games 3 and 4.

MSG Networks’ full telecast schedule for the Rangers’ opening playoff series is below, along with the team’s exhibition game versus the Islanders at 8:00pm ET on Wednesday, July 29th. The games will also be available for viewing on MSG GO, the network’s live streaming and video on demand platform for smartphones, tablets and computers.

Play-by-play announcer Sam Rosen, the recipient of the 2016 Foster Hewitt Memorial Award from the Hockey Hall of Fame, and analyst Joe Micheletti will call the game action remotely each night from MSG Networks’ studios in New York City. John Giannone will host pregame, postgame and intermission coverage throughout the series from the network’s studio as well, alongside former Rangers goalie and Emmy Award winning studio analyst Steve Valiquette.

In anticipation of the return of hockey, MSG Networks will be airing two new Rangers preview shows on Tuesday, July 28th and Thursday, July 30th, featuring interviews with Coach Quinn and various Rangers players. During each show, Rangers broadcasters Sam Rosen, Joe Micheletti, John Giannone and Steve Valiquette will break down the upcoming qualifying matchup and provide fans with the latest news and info on the team before they get set to return to the ice.

The network will also be re-airing all of the Rangers’ wins from the 2019-20 regular season over the next two weeks, which will provide fans with a great look back at the team’s run to the playoffs. Viewers will get to re-watch the team’s wins consecutively from the beginning of the season, starting with the Rangers’ opening night win over Winnipeg back in October. The schedule will be highlighted by a full lineup of games on Saturday, July 18th and Sunday, July 19th, starting at 10:00am ET each day.
