MSG Networks Names Erika Wachter as New Host for New Jersey Devils Coverage

New Jersey Native Joins Broadcast Team of Ken Daneyko, Steve Cangialosi and Bryce Salvador

New York, NY (September 12, 2018) – MSG Networks (NYSE: MSGN) announced today that Erika Wachter is joining the MSG Networks broadcast team this season as its new host for New Jersey Devils telecasts. A New Jersey native, Wachter comes to MSG Networks after working for the last two years as a sports reporter and host for FOX 5 New York.

Starting this season, Wachter will host all pre-game, intermission and post-game Devils coverage on MSG+. She will team up with former Devils captain and 14-year NHL veteran Bryce Salvador, who returns for his second season as studio analyst for the network. Devils great and three-time Stanley Cup Champion Ken Daneyko – “Mr. Devil” – returns for his fifth season as in-game analyst, alongside Emmy Award winning play-by-play announcer Steve Cangialosi, who returns for his eighth season in the booth.

“As a New Jersey native, I’m beyond grateful for the opportunity to join the MSG Networks’ Devils family and cover a franchise with such a rich history of success,” said Wachter. “I want to first thank everyone at FOX 5 New York for the last two years, where I was unbelievably fortunate to be able to work in the greatest sports city in the world. But with all the excitement now around this upcoming hockey season, I can’t wait to start working with our incredible broadcast team and connecting with all the passionate Devils fans.”

Wachter previously held on-air positions for various local stations, including NESN in Boston and CPTV in Connecticut. And from 2014-2015, she served as the sports reporter for the University of Connecticut, where she covered Huskies football, men’s hockey and men/women’s basketball.

“We are excited to add New Jersey’s own, Erika Wachter, to the MSG Networks team, where she will join us as our new Devils host,” said Jeff Filippi, MSG Networks Senior Vice President of Programming and Production and Executive Producer. “Erika has an exceptional knowledge of the local sports scene and will bring tremendous amounts of passion and enthusiasm to the broadcast.”

Wachter is from Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey and is a graduate of the S.I. Newhouse School of Communications at Syracuse University. While at Syracuse, she also played four years on the varsity field hockey team.
