New York, NY (February 4, 2019) – MSG Networks (NYSE: MSGN), the television home of the New York Rangers, announced today a full week of special programming, presented by Chase, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Rangers’ 1994 Stanley Cup season. The programming will run throughout the week leading up to the upcoming anniversary celebration event to honor the 1994 Championship team on Friday, February 8th at Madison Square Garden prior to the Rangers game against the Hurricanes that evening. MSG Networks will have live coverage of the tribute event, starting at 6:30pm.

The anniversary ceremony and pregame coverage will run up until the Rangers game at 8:00pm. During the live pregame special and in between periods, MSG Networks will have interviews with notable Rangers alumni from the 1994 team. Former Rangers analyst John Davidson will also reunite with his long-time broadcaster partner and current play-by-play announcer Sam Rosen, along with current analyst Joe Micheletti, in the booth for a few minutes during the game to talk about his experience covering the team.

As part of the programming, Rangers legends Brian Leetch, Adam Graves and Mike Richter recently sat down together, alongside the Stanley Cup, for an incredibly candid conversation that will be featured in a new episode of “Connections” airing on Friday at 6:00pm before the anniversary event. During the honest, wide-ranging discussion, they touched on everything from the mutual respect and admiration for each other, the passion of the fans and the surreal feeling after they won the Cup.

Special 1994 Rangers programming begins today, Monday, with a replay of the ticker-tape parade celebration down the Canyon of Heroes. Throughout the week, fans can relive many of the amazing moments, including a countdown of the greatest plays from Mark Messier’s illustrious career on Tuesday, a behind-the-scenes story on Graves’ impressive rise to stardom on Wednesday or a look back on Thursday on Stéphane Matteau’s memorable overtime winner that sent the Rangers to the Stanley Cup Finals.

On Thursday and Friday, MSG Networks will also re-air Games 6 and 7 of the 1994 Eastern Conference Finals versus the Devils and 1994 Stanley Cup Finals Games 4 and 7 against the Canucks. In Game 6 of the Conference Finals, Messier backed up his now famous victory guarantee with a hat trick to force a deciding Game 7, in which Matteau scored the thrilling overtime goal to send the Rangers to the Stanley Cup Finals. Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Finals featured Richter’s iconic penalty shot save on Pavel Bure that ultimately propelled the Rangers to victory. In the clinching Game 7, Leetch, who was awarded the Conn Smythe Trophy for playoff MVP, helped lead the Blueshirts to the title.

All Rangers programming throughout the week and coverage of the anniversary ceremony on MSG Networks will also be available on MSG GO, MSG Networks’ live streaming and video on demand platform for smartphones, tablets and computers.
